Movement : This small style veil is also known as a “flag”. It’s a fast moving technical dream, small to avoid the tangles of large veils in small spaces. These tend to be easier for beginners starting their flow journey, and are great to use dual handed for a brain expanding flow. Small veils are tuckable, travel-able, and super fun for a fast-paced flow.

Movement : the long rounded edge of this medium sized flutters like a petal, a sea creature, a wing. It is perfect as a skirt, a panel skirt, a cape (front or back, or side), a head wrap, or more… It’s rounded shape means you’ll step on it less, and the shape throws big. Great for small or large spaces, thisshape is a favorite (and try it with 2 at a time, in each hand or the same, if you dare :) )

If held close to the weighted tip, one can get a lot of inner rotation work in, or if held far a very big throw for big spaces.

A large 9ft veil with a tail is absolutely magnificent. It’s large enough to wrap yourself fully and fills any large stage quite well. By using small stage techniques + practice, one can use this in small spaces too, never fear. I have used this on 60×40foot stages in Vegas and 6×6 foot stages in Chicago and New York. :)

Movement : This large style veil is big enough to wrap most bodies, and flutters sumptuously with the tail diagonal edge in curvaceous shapes that are varied and infinite. Ideal for larger spaces (but can be adapted for smaller with skill) this large shape takes up space! I recommend you move your body a lot when dancing with large veils. [The dyed color spot on this veil creates more spiral movement for the eye, making your swirls catching and fetching.]

The long diagonal edge ruffles as you move the weighted end, and you can hold either end of the weight for slightly different effects. These 2 flags (which were, once, fan veils for a very short period of their lives) these flow like those fans but with the flexible weighting of my Gaea style veils. It is perfect as a skirt, a panel skirt, a cape (front or back, or side), a head wrap, or more… It’s rounded shape means you’ll step on it less, and the shape throws big. RIBBON WEAVER
a ribbon dancer for adults.... this delphinium blue hearken to water and sky, flower petals and dreams. The ribbon consists of 3 pieces of carefully hemmed silk in unique shapes that spray out to display their tips and tails with movement.
Attached firmly to a telescoping pole with a sturdy handle, the dancer can change the length of the ribbon pole at any time.
Great for festivals, kids, playtime, performances (esp long form), and lots of wind.... it might even be called a glorified cat toy. ;)

Beauty marks define this half moon veil. They were created from the simmering dye pot, giving this veil a unique touch, no other exists in the world like it. Just like you. :)
Buckthorn is an invasive tree in Wisconsin, so we scrape the bark off to reveal a deep orange underlayer. This bark, rich with the tree’s lifeblood, gives this half moon sumptuous veil it’s rich coloration. Naturally dyed, this fleshy warm tone hearkens to wildness and softness of skin itself. A fluttering edge inspires to nature herself, trees and soil, bird feathers and rabbit fur. You are of the cosmos, you are one with everything.

The technical aspects of the silk veil are broken down here at the request of my
students over the years- as my silk veils have blossomed from a personal passion
done in my home studio with my fire & flow troupe to an internationally-wide art
form with weighted veil practitioners all over Europe, Australia, Asia, Central
America, South America, and beyond. It’s pretty incredible to imagine how following
my creative spark one evening created such a domino effect.
