Colors:
I use ancient Japanese Shibori dyeing methods, innovative silk painting, and creative artistic techniques coupled with high quality natural or acid dyes to achieve all colors. View the dye chart here & let me know what color(s) you fancy.
Pattern Inspiration Ideas:
starburst, sworl, moons, spirals, or lightning bolts.
water or rivers, night sky constellations, nebula, clouds, flames.
2-6 tone variagated ombre (+$10 per color)
Flat or striated with natural dye bath nuances to catch the light
Weight of Fabric:
My silk fabrics comes in 2 weights:
5 momme -- ultralightweight, super sheer, ethereal, airy, wafty, transparent, delicate. example video here
8 momme - lightweight, buttery, semi-sheer, brighter colors, sturdier, holds up longer over time. example video here
Shape:
a Rectangle is the standard!
You may ask ask for a flags with tails (gets less tangled), half Circle, Rhomboid, etc…….
Size:
small Flags are 2-4 feet.
The most manageable size for YOU will be shorter the length of your thumb to your armpit. (This allows for internal rotations)
larger flags are awesome, and take a lot of skill + practice to manipulate.
Custom Creations take 3-8 weeks to complete (not including shipping times). Please note, if I am on tour this may take longer, as I will be away from my dye studio.
